Russian Hill

Russian Hill sits atop San Francisco’s highest hilltop offering residents sweeping views of the bay to downtown, often perfectly framing the iconic angular shaped Transamerica Pyramid. A fun fact is that not only is Russian Hill home to Lombard Street, the most “crooked street” in San Francisco, but also in the world, located on the block between Hyde & Jones. These eight sharp turns are dotted with picturesque mansions juxtaposed with lush, floral landscaped architecture. It’s definitely a favorite landmark of the Beverly Barnett team.

What attracts many to Russian Hill is its central location within the city, easy access to public transportation making it quite possible to forgo the need for a car, and close proximity to the Marina/Cow Hollow district. Everything is literally at your doorstep in Russian Hill.

While there are a finite number of single-family homes for an offer in Russian Hill each year, high-rise condo living is de rigueur for the area. Out of the 115 properties sold sum total in 2017, 12 were single-family homes and 93 were condos. The average sales price for a Russian Hill condo in 2017 was $2,042,494 with a price per square foot just above $1300. Chestnut Street is a prestige address where many of the area's finest buildings are located.

Russian Hill favorites include Biondivino Wine Bar on Green Street, Blue Barn Gourmet for incredible salads and mouthwatering grilled cheese, and for a taste of the east, Helmand Palace, one of the few Afghan restaurants in the city with dishes to tantalize the senses.
