Presidio Heights

Presidio Heights offers some of San Francisco’s largest homes on lots that often have exquisite architecture, panoramic views of the bay, and fabulous neighborhood shopping/dining with easy access to the Presidio. It’s easy to understand why Presidio Heights holds some of the priciest real estate not only in San Francisco but also in the United States.

If one truly wants to get a full scope of grandeur that is Presidio Heights, simply have a gander at Presidio Terrace, a luxe haven within Presidio Heights, a “gated” community (the iron-and-stone entrance is not staffed, meaning all are welcome to marvel at the architectural expressions). The fine homes are a harmonious mix of Tudor revival, mission revival, and a variety of other styles. The development includes a circular drive (also called Presidio Terrace), with palm-tree “islands” spaced appealingly around it.

Ensconced with Presidio Terrace is the exclusive Presidio Golf and Concordia Club. This members-only club offers world-class golf, fitness, dining, and a host of social activities.

One of the neighborhood’s big assets is the Jewish Community Center on California Street and Presidio Avenue which houses a fitness center, pool and space for performances and lectures. This is not your grandmother’s JCC where she meets with her weekly canasta group (although you might find her here).

Neighborhood favorites include Garibaldi’s Restaurant, posh eatery Spruce, and popular brunch spot Magic Flute Garden Ristorante. To catch a movie, head to the Vogue Theatre at Sacramento (one of the city’s oldest operating cinemas) and Presidio.
